With so many spring anthems hitting the charts this week, let's count down the numbers inside our top 10.
Charts for the week of April 13th were released yesterday, with debuts from Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce. With so many spring anthems hitting the charts this week, let's count down the numbers inside our top 10.
Justin Timberlake spends a third non-consecutive week at no. 1, with "Not a Bad Thing". The song was first crowned no. 1 in the week of March 23rd, then fell to Shakira's "Can't Remember to Forget You", which jumped three spots to the top. The next week, JT reclaimed the top song, which is where he stands today.
Katy Perry's "Dark Horse" continues to smash the BenBoard record for most cumulative weeks charting, with 27 weeks logged (and still counting). The song spends its sixth non-consecutive week at no. 2, which was its peak position up until March 2nd, when it finally reached the summit after a whopping 21 weeks. The song also holds the record for the best comeback on the Hot 25. It peaked at no. 2 last September, fell off the chart in December, returned on January 12th, and hasn't budged since.
Spending its eighth week atop the Dance Songs chart, Avicii's "Hey Brother" returns to its peak position at no. 3. With this week's charts, it breaks the Dance Songs chart record for most weeks at no. 1. It surpasses Fatboy Slim's "Eat Sleep Rave Repeat", which raved for seven weeks.
Christina Perri's power hit "Human" rises to its new peak of no. 4 on the Hot 25 after just four weeks. Perri also scores her first chart-topper on the Adult Contemporary Songs chart, where "Human" rose 2-1. On the other side of the site, Lady Antebellum's "Compass" continues its reign on the Country Songs chart. It also holds its no. 5 position on the Hot 25.
Former no. 1 hit "Can't Remember to Forget You" falls 2-6 this week, while Shakira's own "Medicine" (with Blake Shelton) rises 5 slots to no. 8. This makes Shakira the eighteenth artist in BenBoard history to have two songs in the top 10 at the same time.
Arguably the biggest song in the world right now, Pharrell Williams' "Happy" rises 10-7 this week, surpassing Phillip Phillips' "Raging Fire" and Chris Brown's "Loyal", which round out the top 10 this week.
In terms of other songs on this week's charts, Jack and Jack had the biggest jump this week, as "Flights" soars 25-15. Shakira tops the BenBoard 10 and Pop Albums chart for a third week, Miskreet rises 2-1 on the Hip-Hop/R&B Albums chart with The Studio Files, and Chris Brown's "Loyal" spends a second week atop the R&B Songs chart. Keep it here next week to find out if Justin Timberlake can score a fourth week at no. 1!
